On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the City of North Lauderdale came together for The Mayor's Day of Thanksgiving, an impactful and joyful event hosted at the North Lauderdale Sports Complex Field #4. This free community event, spearheaded by Mayor Samson Borgelin in partnership with SouthPromo.com, PK4PM, Tax Me Corp, DTLR, Demesmin & Dover Law Firm, and other incredible sponsors, celebrated the spirit of gratitude and giving.
From 10 AM to 1 PM, attendees were treated to a day filled with entertainment, valuable resources, and heartfelt generosity. Over the course of the event, hundreds of families received free turkeys and groceries, supporting the fight against food insecurity in the community. Guests also enjoyed a fun zone for kids, live music performances, and free haircuts, along with access to food trucks and other community resources.
A major highlight of the day was the collaborative effort that made it all possible. Thanks to our generous partners—such as Farm Share, which provided essential groceries, and local businesses that contributed to the event's success—we were able to serve the North Lauderdale community in a meaningful way. Our other community partners include 103.5 The Beat, Just Vote Period, DJ Traphouse, Fabion 305, Phuse Cream, Business Wealth Mindset, Hollywood Brown Foundation, RSP Solutions, Cuts from the Heart, Swerve Performance, Florida Blue, and AG Leadership Academy.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to participate and to those who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible. The Mayor’s Day of Thanksgiving demonstrated the power of collaboration and the importance of giving back, truly embodying the essence of the holiday season.
